JOB DESCRIPTION

An opportunity exists for a Senior Staff Accountant in a dynamic sales, marketing, and promotions operation supporting a rapidly growing, celebrity-backed spirit brand. This position offers the right candidate a key position within the organization and will provide opportunities for career development and growth.  The purpose of the position is to (i) execute the day-to-day accounting of the operation, including production of month-end, quarterly and year-end financial statements; and (ii) support the Accounting Manager as well as the Commercial Director, President, and CEO in the timely fulfillment of accounting tasks and maintenance of inventory.

This position reports to the Accounting Manager. 

JOB RESPONSABILITIES

1.      Execute all day-to-day finance and accounting responsibilities of the company, including month end financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, etc.) 

a.       Receive and verify invoices and requisitions for goods and services

b.      Verify that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures

c.       Prepare and enter batches of invoices into QuickBooks

d.      Prepare and record all checks

e.       Maintain the general ledger

f.        Maintain updated vendor files and file number

g.      Manage and process payroll and expense reimbursements

 

2.      Support Accounting Manager in managing Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable to ensure timely receipt and issuance of all payments; maintain adequate cash balance to meet operating needs

3.      Conduct ongoing quality assurance to maintain data integrity and accuracy

4.      Maintain internal controls to safeguard corporate resources and property

5.      Support Accounting Manager in managing product inventory levels, delivery schedules, and order placement to ensure adequate reserves and timely order fulfillment

6.      Perform special projects, as the primarily responsible party and/or team member, as needed

7.      Protect operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential

8.      Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

 

MANDATORY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

1.      2-3 years of finance and accounting experience

2.     -Strong QuickBooks skills

 3.   Intermediate to advanced Excel skills

4.     Intermediate PowerPoint preferred

5.     Strong problem solver driven to accomplish goals and able to work independently

6.     Solid oral and written communications skills

7.     Comfortable working long hours in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

8.     Bachelor’s Degree in finance or accounting (with high GPA)

9.   Experience working at a Big 4 accounting firm a plus

Annualized Compensation: $45,000 - $60,000  (depending on experience including bonuses)
