Sr. Support Technician Job in Winnipeg R3B 1B3, Manitoba Canada

The Senior Support Technician is primarily responsible for senior to expert tier technical support and provides high level troubleshooting to resolve various network and system technical issues. The managing, monitoring and maintaining network, client, and server resources, the administration of Windows and email accounts, overseeing the help desk ticket queue.  Training, mentoring and supporting the junior support technicians are also included in the responsibilities of the Senior Support Technician.

Responsibilities:
• Provide back-up support on the Help Desk and provide senior level technical support.
• Oversee the creation and deletion of user accounts within Active Directory, Email, CRM and Phone System.
• Monitor various servers to ensure optimal system operation, storage capacity, and data integrity
• Provide support to satellite offices as required.
• Ensure data integrity and security through file and group permission on file servers.
• Research new software and hardware that could play a role in maximizing system potential.
• Propose new solutions that will help the company grow and thrive.
• Facilitate specifying, procuring and deploying all end user technology for the Winnipeg operation.

Qualifications:
• Extensive knowledge of account management with Active Directory.
• Solid understanding of network protocols and data communication.
• Excellent understanding of how mobile devices are used in and connected to the enterprise.
• Expert level knowledge of PC and server hardware.
• Expert knowledge of Windows Family Operating systems and client and server functionality.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for dealing with Supervisors and Management staff.
• Experience in leading and mentoring Jr. IT Technicians an asset.

Education Experience:
• Professional Certification such as A+, MTA, MCTS, MCITP or equivalent is an asset.
• Certificate in Information Technology is Desirable.
• High School Diploma is required.
• 3 to 5 years of field experience.
