We have an immediate need for a Sr. Systems Engineer
Job Description:
Ensures the timely and efficient completion of larger, complicated or multiple projects to achieve company cost and customer service objectives. Acts as project leader with senior level technical responsibility for planning, organizing, and conducting complex technical projects or major phases of projects involving the design and development of new or improved products and/or processes.
1. Bachelors degree (BS) in mechanical, electrical, or aerospace engineering or a related technical discipline.
2. Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through ten or more years of related experience. MS preferred.
3. Advanced knowledge of engineering theories, including either mechanical, electronic, packaging, and/or optics engineering theories, principles, concepts, techniques, project management and control, concurrent engineering, industry practices, regulations, and policies related to division products, services, markets, objectives and strategies.
4. Ability to apply comprehensive knowledge of other related engineering areas form other experts to own area of experties.
5. Ability to identify limitations of understanding of requirements, technology, markets, etc, to identify potential methods to gather information or reduce risk.
6. Comprehensive knowledge of, and ability to lead and implement, continuous improvement principles and techniques.
7. Ability to use standard business applications software and specialized data analysis, design, and project management tools.
8. Ability to plan and conduct complex assignments where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangible variables and/or complete data; understand problems from a broad, long-term perspective; Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex policies and recommend major changes to procedures.
9. Ability to respond to significant inquiries or complaints from division leaderhsip, external customers, other divisions, and top management on critical matters. 1
0. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
11. Ability to exercise independent judgement in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
12. Ability to lead and coordinate multiple projects.
**Important Requirements**
Support development activities including systems functionality requiremnts development, requiremnts flowdown to system components, and be able to lead functionality development such as System I/O, Control Monitoring or Maintenance functions.
Use of DOORs and MATLAB tools for Requirements development Reviews and Validation. Knowledge of Safety Assessment and its relation to primary flight controls. Experience with Configuration and Change Control systems and processes, and in a systems laboratory setting conducting systems integration of software, firmware and hardware.
