Raytheon Oakley Systems is part of Raytheon Company's Intelligence and Information Systems business. Raytheon Oakley Systems is a leader in insider threat protection, developed by experts in law enforcement, defense, and digital forensics, combining network and endpoint monitoring with targeted investigations to protect enterprises against the complete range of insider threats.
The Sr Systems Engineer I serves as the primary technical interface and onsite subject matter expert to customers for the Raytheon Oakley Systems product line. Working closely with Raytheon Oakley's Federal Government customers and Raytheon Program Managers, this individual will perform and assist in all phases of product integration, operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of technical issues related to the Raytheon Oakley product suite. Additionally, this individual will help shape customer deployments by sharing best practices, and lessons learned from direct experiences in related IT security and networking fields. LOCATION: Annapolis Junction, Maryland
Responsibilities include:
- Perform hands-on installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of servers and network components as they relate to the Raytheon Oakley suite of products.
- First escalation contact for customer support issues.
- Basic troubleshooting of Raytheon Oakley suite of products.
- Aiding, and providing recommendations to the customer's internal IT staff with deployment of Raytheon Oakley's product suite.
- Interfacing with the customer's staff to assist with project planning, product employment best practices, and problem resolution.
- Act as the internal customer advocate for problem resolution, new product features, and future product direction.
- Accurately and completely document product problems and associated defects and solutions.
- Maintain ownership of customer issues and drive those issues to resolution.
Required skills:
- 4+ years applicable experience to include:
- 2+ years as a support engineer or related customer facing technical field.
- 2+ years Windows and Linux operating systems experience.
- 2+ years IP networking experience.
- Strong computer, Windows Operating Systems, Linux, and TCP/IP network troubleshooting abilities
- Capable of working independently and self guiding work schedules to meet customer needs.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels within the organization.
Desired Skills:
- Experience in Cyber-Security, Cyber-Investigations, or Computer Forensics a plus
Required Education (including Major):
- 4 years experience with a BS/BA in Engineering, Science or Math degree or equivalent experience
