Sr Technical Communicator/Writer
Responsibilities: Creates, develops, plans, writes, and edits operational, instructional, maintenance, or test procedures for paper, multimedia, or web-based publication. Conduct interviews with various users and technical staff to gather data for documentation. Researches and translates technical information into manuals and/or web-based documents for nontechnical and technical users. May document engineering processes and specificiations. Recommends formats responsive to technical and customer requirements. Produces products that conforms to the company documentation and quality assurance standards. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Exercises judgement within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Working hours: 1st Shift Skills: * 5 year minimum in creating end-user documentation: owner's guides, setup guides, instructions, etc. * Expert in Adobe Creative Suite 5, specifically InDesign and Illustrator. * Experience with print production processes and workflows. * Experience with digital communication methods (web, on-screen display, mobile devices) * Expert at written English language with knowledge of translation/localization methods * Ability to integrate into cross-functional technical teams * Experience creating end-user documentation for consumer electronics or similar products * Experience creating user-interface design specifications * Ability to create visual flow diagrams, charts, graphs and wireframes; technical illustration skills a plus * Microsoft office Education: * BA/MA preferred, in English, Technical Communications, related field or equivalent experience Note: This is a 12+ month contract.
