Sr Technical Manager (Technical Support and Service Manager)

ENSCO's Applied Technology and Engineering (ATE) Division designs and constructs track inspection systems for the Railroad industry worldwide. We are seeking a skilled Technical Support and Service Manager to manage customer technical support and service functions for ENSCOs ATE division in our Springfield, Virginia facility.

Responsibilities will include:
- National and international installations, service and support of optical and inertial-based real-time measurement systems used throughout the railway industry
- Leading a team of electronics and mechanical technicians to provide outstanding customer support that ensures fast response and minimal equipment downtime
- Preventative maintenance and repair field service visits, and in-house evaluation and repair of product returns
- Customer technical phone support
- Developing and maintaining effective and efficient service procedures
- Developing commercial proposals for preventative maintenance plans, sale of spare or replacement parts and for equipment repairs

This position may involve access to technology or technical data that is controlled under U.S. export control laws and regulations and the release of which to a foreign national may require an export license from the U.S. Government.

Qualification Required

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience with relevant service management in an industrial technology environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Experience working under pressure and with addressing customer concerns and issues in a professional manner
- Experience developing, nurturing and leading a successful service and support staff
- Strong electrical and mechanical and computer aptitude with experience in an industrial or railway environment
- Commercial experience developing and estimating costs for service, support, preventative maintenance and spare part proposals to keep customer equipment running efficiently and with minimal downtime
- Ability to identify and develop opportunities to propose the sale of spare parts and support services
- Ability to develop and provide effective training programs to users
- Ability to develop effective equipment service procedures

Qualification Desired

- Degree or Certificate in Business Management

Division Description

ENSCO's ATE Division supports a variety of railroad transportation activities to maintain and ensure safe rail systems for the Federal Railroad Administration and railroad companies by developing real-time, web-based products for use by railroad organizations.

ENSCOs ATE Division also develops and designs measurement systems for railroad inspections cars and conducts research and development efforts for the Federal Railroad Administration.
