Sr. Technical Support Specialist- POS Job in East Hanover, New Jersey US
DESCRIPTION:
- Company in the hospitality industry seeks a Technical Specialist who would be responsible for providing second level training and help desk support (with an emphasis on equipment repair and troubleshooting) for all restaurant systems.
- Also responsible for researching IT issues and monitoring relevant IT systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Acts as Senior Support to the field for POS software issues, including but not limited to Point of Sale Systems, SOS systems, KMS systems, MS Office 2003 - 2010, and all Windows 2000 and XP operating systems.
- Acts as senior support to the POS software to field and help desk team for Aloha POS, Aloha CDM, and QSR KMS.
- KMS systems.
- Also provide first and second level support for MS Office and all 2000 and XP operating systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software and hardware issues through discussions with users.
Support software, including, but not limited to:
- Aloha Point-of-Sale (Quick Service and Table Service),
Operating Systems:
- Windows XP through 7, MS Office 2003 - 2010, Internet Explorer.
- Lead and coordinate testing and deployment of all POS software upgrades and patches.
- Work with end-user groups to define system requirements, develop test scripts, test, and pilot and deploy new systems.
- Typically able to resolve most complex issues immediately.
- Able to work with POS support in resolving more complex issues.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have extensive experience with Aloha/Radiant POS table service including CDM management (or similar software package).
- Experience with QSR Kitchen Management Systems a plus.
- Experience with full service restaurant, including front of the house operations knowledge requirement.
- Familiarity with other POS systems, including CPUs and internal components.
- Experience with kitchen and receipt printers, magnetic card swipe readers and cash drawers required.
- Knowledge of modems, scanners and other peripherals preferred.
- Proficiency in Windows Operating Systems XP through 7, TCP/IP and MS Office.
- Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and excellent training skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing schedules and situations.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Available and willing to work various hours, including weekends, nights and holidays.
- Experience working in a multi-unit, multi-state environment within the restaurant/retail industry is preferred.
