Summary: The main duty of the Sr. Technical Trainer is to train end users on Stratasys rapid prototyping systems. The Sr. Technical Trainer overseas the weekly training course, Train the Trainer, and the Advanced FDM training course which is conducted by the System Trainer(s). The Sr. Technical Trainer is responsible for supervising training and supporting additional System Trainer(s) by working to keep them up to speed on current and new products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (Other duties may be assigned):
- Responsible for the design, development, implementation, and upgrading of technical training programs on all major equipment. This will involve both Eden Prairie based and on-site training for Stratasys customers and Distributor/resellers representatives.
- Ensure the generation and distribution of technical information to Customers/Resellers/Distributors and to the Tech Pubs department for writing and upgrading of system training manuals and documentation.
- Investigate, purchase and implement new training methods to enhance the efficiency of the training function.
- Maintain ongoing interaction with Stratasys customers/resellers/distributors. The incumbent's decisions will affect the relationship between Stratasys and our customers.
- Remain current on technical and process knowledge to properly answer questions. Provide prompt response to technical issues received from customers. Solicit assistance from others for resolution of these issues when appropriate.
- Submit reports on customer visits, training sessions and progress of resellers/distributors.
- Perform and coordinate special projects as assigned by the Manager of the Service department.
- Supply and review of technical documentation provided by Technical Pubs group.
- Coordinate technology transfer sessions between engineering, OEM equipment suppliers, Stratasys Service Group, Insight Team and AE team.
- Participate in the review of class attendee evaluations and develop plans of corrective action where necessary.

- Follow all company safety policies and procedures and attend all safety trainings related to the job position.
Assists in:
- Determining budgetary requirements for training equipment, class development and general expenditures.
- Developing and documenting training group department policies and procedures.
- Proactively providing input to improve system training design, performance and technical documentation.
- Organizing Technical training seminars for customers/resellers/distributors and internal representatives.
- Developing and maintaining annual class schedule online.
Essential Education, Skills and Experience:
- A two year technical degree in an electrical field or equivalent education.
- Minimum of 5 years total experience in a field/technical environment working with electro-mechanical equipment.
- 5 years Technical Training Course and material development experience including: Course customization to meet special needs of customers.
- 5 Years project management experience from conception to completion.
- Minimum of 5 years working in a customer relationship atmosphere.
- Must be able to work well with people to understand and resolve problems including those who do not speak English well.
- Familiarity with the following programs used in a personal computer is a plus: Windows, Word, Excel, Corel Draw, MS Access, MS project, MS Powerpoint, Adobe Framemaker.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Ability to work independently and set own priorities.

Physical/Environmental Requirements:
- Manual dexterity as required to troubleshoot and repair Stratasys equipment.
- Comfortable in a classroom setting. Able to present information in a clear manner to a large group of people.
- Comfortable with conflict resolution as with dealing with customers who are upset over an equipment issue.
- Approximately 20% Travel - Ability to travel independently (including international).
