Sr. Underwriting Consultant
To anticipate key business, marketplace, competitor dynamics in developing implementing strategies to optimize business results which include retention growth targets while mitigating risk. Essential Functions: - Partners w/ Sales Account Management other key internal stakeholders to create execute a business plan that optimizes our opportunities across book of business. - Produces accurate quotes in compliance w/ Underwriting authority guidelines state federal laws for existing prospective business. - Develop execute account /or book of business plans to ensure attainment of goals primarily on complex cases. - Conducts peer review including the most complex cases to ensure accuracy appropriateness of quote. - Manages business processes policies that support optimal customer service. - Meets established department turn around goals by balancing deadlines. - Designs new interpret existing policies, procedures, methodology. - Develops leads in the implementation of continuous quality improvement programs. - Strategically partners w/ influence Actuarial Services other internal customers to ensure KP business processes are in alignment w/ organizational external customer goals when appropriate. - Ensures Underwriting is an integral partner in the creation of effective business solutions. - Establishes leverages relationships w/ Sales/Account Management external customers that optimizes business potential w/ purchasers, brokers consultants. - Develops creative solutions that maximize credibility w/ customers Sales/Account Management. - Proactively acquires exhibits knowledge of the external business environment to add value. - Provides leadership to the team. - Creates maintains positive, empowering work environment. - Acts as a role model. - Coaches develops team members. Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: - 7 years of progressive experience, rating, underwriting, marketplace evaluations, /or financial or quantitative analysis in managed care environment (large group UW preferred) required. - Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, business administration, or a related field or applicable related years of work experience required.
