What You Will Do-- Sr. UNIX / Linux Sys Admin, Cloud Systems: Reporting to the CSE Site Manager, the Sr. UNIX / Linux Sys Admin, Cloud Systems is responsible for providing daily technical support for customer issues as identified in the Remedy Call Management System. Will ?own? the problem through resolution. Respond to Remedy tickets in an expedient manner, providing clear and informative status entries, resolution entries and quality assurance closure with the customer. Will work to identify the root cause of any customer issue and strive to incorporate solutions that are correct, with zero rework. Provide leadership and mentoring pertaining to customer relations, technical expertise, effective communication and teamwork. Responsibilities: The Sr. UNIX / Linux Sys Admin, Cloud Systems will be in charge of maintaining a UNIX / Linux-based server environment with over 1,500 host servers. Some key responsibilities include. * Maintain RedHat Kickstart Server, Solaris Jumpstart Server and Ignite HP-UX server * Implement and maintain Solaris Volume Manager (DiskSuite) and Logical Volume Manager * Experience with Sun Cluster, Veritas Cluster, Veritas Volume Manager and Veritas File System * Expertise with Bind Name server (DNS) for internal and external name resolve, NTP server, FTP Servers (such as WUFTP,VSFTP,PROFTP), LDAP servers and Secure Shell(SSH) * Strong knowledge LAMP suite ? with advanced performance tuning skills around Apache and various modules * Strong knowledge in Solaris Zones, configuration and administration * Implement and maintain Sendmail and Postfix (Being used in various configurations such as Incoming Mail Relay,Outgoing mail Relay etc?) * Manage space allocation and perform basic troubleshooting on Storage Area Network (SAN) and Network Attached storage (NASs) devices from HP (StorageWorks), EMC, and NetApp * Proficient with UNIX scripts related to system monitoring, troubleshooting and proactive tasks * Participate on 24/7 on-call rotations What We Are Looking for in a Sr. UNIX / Linux Sys Admin, Cloud Systems: Required Experience: - Due to SIAS requirements, candidate must be a US Citizen - 3 to 5 years experience with UNIX /Linux operating systems and services, especially Solaris 9 / 10, Red Hat 5, HP-UX 11, and AIX 5 - Solaris Zones, Veritas Clusters a must Highly Skilled in: * Hardware: Sun Servers (Entry and Mid range SunFire servers such as SunFire6800/4800/3800/880/440s etc), Sun AMD x86 machines running SolarisSun Storages (FC3510s, 3310s, 9910s etc), HP Servers (HP9000- K, L and N Class servers), HP Storages (such as EVA5000,,EVA3000, MA8000 and MSAs) * Experienced in Virtual server environments, primarily VMware and Xen * Excellent troubleshooting skills around UNIX file systems, tcp connectivity, networking and application integration * UNIX OS Security best practices * Crash Dump Analysis * Monitoring performance, raising concerns related to performance and resolving OS related Performance Issues by OS tuning and making hardware scaling recommendations * Basic backup Administration such as Veritas Netbackup and HP Data Protector * Monitoring Tools such as Nagios, BMC Patrol and native SNMP Agents * Basic Windows server administration and support * Production support of PeopleSoft customers running Oracle database servers on Linux/ HP-UX Other : * Sun Certified System Administrator * Sun Certified Network Administrator * HPUX System Administrator * RedHat System Administrator * Microsoft Certified Professional ? Windows 2008 or 2010Server * Experience with maintaining more than 100 Unix servers in a production environment. * Experience with EMC Storage Area Network devices, McData Switches, Brocade Switches, CX-Series Storages a plus. * Experience in DNS Management solutions.
