About the Opportunity
- The candidate will be responsible for the build, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting of windows and ESX environment in multiple data centers that support Digital infrastructure. Must be able to show initiative and teamwork to resolve projects spanning many disciplines, teams, and data environments. Providing timely and appropriate response to requests/activities supporting product development and QA activities is most important in this role.
- This individual will deploy, maintain, monitor and support all Windows infrastructure-related activities of the organization. The Windows System Administrator must have experience building and configuring systems (hardware, software, file systems), work closely with other departments to identify, recommend, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions in a project oriented environment. Manage a shared ticket queue of daily system requests.
Responsibilities
- Manage the design, deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all Windows servers, operating systems, hardware, software, and peripherals.
- Efficiently manage and resolve daily tickets with effective documentation and communication to the customer.
- Benchmark, analyze, and report on the Windows infrastructure and systems.
- Provide third-level end-user services escalation requiring Windows administrative assistance.
- Keep current with the latest technologies. Attend training classes.
- Practice asset management for Windows hardware, software, and equipment and ensure that asset management policies are adhered to by the team.
Qualifications
- Strong technical knowledge of networks and Microsoft operating systems, including Windows 2003, Windows Server 2008, SQL, Citrix and IIS 6 / IIS 7.
- Strong technical knowledge of VMWare ESXi, VMWare vSphere and Hypervisors.
- Strong technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards.
- Proven experience in IT infrastructure planning and development.
- Strong understanding of project managements principles.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Highly self-motivated and directed.
- Quick, effective troubleshooting methods.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
