The Senior Marketing Manager manages marketing efforts for hotel portfolios with large number of hotels, complex marketing needs (i.e. resorts with golf), high total marketing spend, and/or distribution over multiple markets (resulting in interactions with a broad number of stakeholders). By fully leveraging marketing programs at the property and market level and ensuring marketing efforts are effectively integrated with the selling efforts for the organization, the Senior Marketing Manager supports the organization in generating profitable revenue to increase revpar, market share, and brand awareness for applicable units. Key accountabilities include: ensuring pull through of relevant national marketing programs, channels, platforms, and initiatives; developing and implementing property and market based programs based on local need-time and demand generation opportunities. 1) Ensure pull through of relevant national marketing programs, channels, platforms, and initiatives - Ensure corporate, cluster and/or regional marketing programs are pulled through at the property level - Educate stakeholders on marketing Brand Standards to ensure compliance - Ensure brand marketing communications and identity standards are maintained at the cluster and property level - Maximize the potential of established marketing vehicles within Marriott: Marriott Rewards, CTAC, MEOs, email, etc - Implement marketing programs in all segments to maximize revenue potential - Effectively communicate program details for properties - Coordinate with hotel General Managers, Sales and Revenue leaders with marketing program details; updates hotels on the status of programs ensuring follow-through and property "buy in" on customer service needs - Work closely with Cluster eCommerce manager o Develop eMarketing strategies for stakeholder properties (e.g. PPC keyword submissions, eBlasts, eBrochures/modules, eProposals) maximizing on-line marketing opportunities (e.g. cvent, starcite, knot.com, eMedia) and other Marriott e-tools o Assure that content, photography, promotions and packages, and local links on hotel websites on Marriott.com are up to date and fully utilized by hotels across the region o Leverage eChannel cluster/market marketing and promotional opportunities to drive need-time business o Maintain frequent, active engagement with Cluster eCommerce manager to ensure alignment, pull-through, and 2-way communication about the status, performance, opportunities, and issues related to online programs and initiatives 2) Develop and implement property and market based plans based on local need-time and demand generation opportunities - Maintain and grow business of hotels with effective marketing plans and programs - Continuously focus on marketing initiatives to create customer loyalty and increase market share - Focus on building each unit's top line revenue by executing against the sales strategy - Analyze and direct properties in decisions for marketing opportunities; Provide marketing channel mix (e.g. advertising, promotions, public relations, direct mail, email, demand generator links) planning as part of the overall property and market cluster plans - Guide local property marketing spend to ensure maximum productivity/ROI and brand identity/marketing communications standards adherence and to eliminate non-value added expenditures - Manage the planning, development, and production of marketing communications for properties in the market in conjunction with DMEs and the designated agency/vendor - Work with DME to identify new marketing opportunities in alignment with strategic direction - Evaluate and solicit new marketing, partnership, and barter opportunities - Work with revenue management partner to develop relevant promotions and packages - Provide support in strategic planning and market research - Research, present, and implement upon approval, new opportunities for group, catering, and transient business 3) Additional Key Contributions - Provide training and marketing leadership and act as a marketing subject matter expert for GMs, Sales Leaders and Managers, and Revenue leaders - Assume leadership role as requested by General Manager or Sales Leader, on ad hoc marketing opportunities and special projects - Build and maintain critical relationships o Maintain close communications with DME, GMs, Sales Leaders, and Revenue Leaders o Spend one to two days per week visiting various stakeholder properties and market cluster and sales strategy meetings o Manage relationships with media representatives - Complete Measurement/Reporting o Maintains accurate and up -to-date property initiative, tracking, and budget data/reports using project management system o Measure and report success of property marketing and eCommerce performance to stakeholders using relevant tools - Collaborate with GDPS or designated agency/vendor to achieve goals for all assigned hotels o Coordinate photo shoots in conjunction with GDPS or other agency/vendor o Work with GDPS and/or other designated vendor partners as needed for collateral, communications, photography, dm, etc o Work with GDPS and Field Support to ensure that any communications materials created are up-to-date with marketing communications and identity standards - Facilitate communications regarding marketing and eCommerce on behalf of properties for owners and asset management groups; provide updates regarding recent actions and upcoming initiatives; prepare for and participate in owner meetings, as appropriate. CANDIDATE PROFILE - KEY TALENTS AND EXPERIENCE DESIRED REQUIRED: - 6-8 years of marketing communications experience (hospitality industry preferred) - Experience in corporate marketing communications, advertising agency, or e-marketing agency
