Job Description

 

SS7 Engineer - Customer Support Coordinator

You will be joining a high-tech telecommunications company that seeking an Application Support Engineer for its customer service group based in the western suburbs of Chicago.  You will be responsible for supporting SS7 and VOIP networks focused on QoS, Billing, Fraud, Troubleshooting, Surveillance, Network Optimization and Revenue Assurance its products to telephone Wireline, Wireless and Next-Generation Network Carriers.  You will do some light travel nationwide as required.  Requires strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Must be a resourceful self starter and a highly detailed individual.  You will need an understanding of SS7  for Wireline or Wireless carriers, Telephone switching systems, network management and technologies such as SS7, surveillance, QOS, Billing, Fraud, Revenue Assurance and Network Optimization.  Any basic understanding of databases such as Oracle or SQL Server would be a definite asset.


Skills and Qualifications:


Keys: SS7, Tekelec, Links,  M2PA, SCCP, TCAP, Wireless and Wireline carrier experience

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        

The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in LAN/WAN and Network Operating Systems (including routers, hubs and servers); Operating Systems (Windows XP Pro, 2003/8 Server and Client) and to troubleshoot TCP/IP connectivity.  You will need an understanding of Microsoft Application programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and provide support ranging from beginning to advanced.
