As a member of SSgA's Knowledge Management Training team, the Junior Instructional Designer designs and develops training solutions for a wide variety of SSgA business groups globally. Regular duties include developing interactive elearning and instructional videos, preparing and delivering live classroom and webcast presentations, and creating detailed reference guides on SSgA systems and processes. Excellent writing and speaking skills, attention to detail and creative thinking are prerequisites. Graphic design experience and a background in adult learning methods are advantageous, though not required. Extensive and ongoing on-the-job training provided.
- Works with subject matter experts to document procedures and processes as part of information gathering
- Converts business area documentation into course materials, job aids and reference guides
- Writes, edits and records scripts for online learning modules, videos and presentations
- Works with subject matter experts and other Knowledge Management Training staff to create and deliver classroom training seminars and elearning modules to design specifications
- Evaluates and updates existing training materials to ensure they reflect the current needs of stakeholders
- Monitors and tracks student progress
- Helps maintain and update the SSgA Employee Training Library
- Excellent writing, grammar, oral communication and organizational skills
- Ability to think creatively, apply ideas constructively and work under deadline
- Ability to handle multiple tasks with multiple stakeholders in a fast paced environment with changing requirements
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Basic project management skills
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint with the ability/desire to learn additional specialized applications
- General understanding of adult learning methods and instructional design principles desired but not essential
- Experience with SharePoint, Articulate Storyline, Articulate Studio Pro and Adobe Captivate desired but not essential
- Experience with Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Premier (Adobe Creative Suite) desired but not essential
