State Street Global Advisors (SSgA) is the asset management business of State Street Corporation, one of the world's leading providers of financial services to institutional investors.
SSgA Interactive is an information management services organization that provides support to the sales, marketing, product, and client service needs of SSgA worldwide by delivering web, automation and client information services.
SSgA Interactive is seeking a Lead Software QA Engineer. The candidate shall have in-depth experience in Quality Assurance and detailed hands-on knowledge of testing, software development and process improvement. The ideal candidate will also possess experience in test automation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reporting to Director of Software Quality Assurance, provide senior SQA profession service, typically on a project or program basis.
- Lead project QA/testing effort. Lead/Manage project QA resource in Boston and Hangzhou, China.
- Understand and convert complex business requirements and functional specifications to test cases, including creation of applicable test data.
- Evaluate and contribute to testable business requirements and functional specifications, including performance and information security.
- Develop and document comprehensive test plans for large, strategic andor complex new development projects, enhancements to existing applications, and infrastructure upgrades of high risk.
- Coordinate and collaborate with business analyst, business/systems analyst on full scope of testing coverage for new business requirements and infrastructure upgrades.
- Collaborate with technical and project management staff on testing approach, project planning and technology reviews.
- Execute manual and automated test cases, includes creation of high quality defects, automated test scripts and test status reports.
- Conduct project post implementation reviews for large projects to identify lessons learned and actions for continuous improvement.
- Supervise onoffshore QA project teams in test estimation, planning and test execution and provides training to staff.
- Support Director of Quality Assurance on assigned departmental Quality improvement initiatives.
- Manage complete defect life cycle with root cause analysis and SQA metrics.
- Ensure end-to-end environment readiness by working with internal/external support teams.
- Assist with the User Acceptance Testing.
- Coordinate QA release deployment and verification.
- Assist in test tool evaluation and recommendation.
- Working knowledge of Unix commands
- Minimum 7 years Development Process Lifecycle experience in the investment management industry
- Experience in leading QA team in large scalecomplex software development releases over multiple release cycles.
- Database and web technology background
- Degree in Computer Science, Finance or equivalent
- Able to create test plans, test cases and test data from business requirements and functional specifications
- Able to clearly and concisely communicate test strategy in writing and verbally.
- Able to provide critiques of testing approaches and plans
- Able to work effectively, often acting in lead position, with a distributed QA team.
- Experience in SDLC, Web Architecture and Technologies, J2EE Development Environment, WebLogic Application Server
