The senior national account manager will report to the team leader of the NBD group and oversee the successful implementation of SSgA's strategy across multiple broker / dealer distribution platforms.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overall relationship management, including understanding each partners' business strategy and articulating how SSgA can fit into that strategy
- Working with enterprise relationship management group to deliver all of State Street products and services
- Driving product availability across platforms
- Creating the State Street advantage through planning and execution; uses data to drive results; communicates goals and provides feedback; ensures customer loyalty and advocacy through continuously improving product and services
- Improving the effectiveness of IBG's sales force by obtaining and communicating relevant and timely information
- Prioritizing sponsorship and branding opportunities to ensure appropriate ROI on these investments
- Working with our internal support teams to ensure we are executing on commitments made to our partners
- Understanding each firms' product selection criteria and articulating how SSgA products meet those criteria
- Providing timely product information and updates
- Facilitating and responding to due diligence RFPs
SSgA is seeking the following qualities from a senior national account manager:
- Experienced in distribution and large account management.
- Established relationships with decision makers at broker / dealer distribution platforms.
- Knowledge of the wealth management industry and trends. The candidate should have a good understanding of the players and key success factors in these markets.
- Self-motivated and driven to excel.
- Experience prioritizing partner firm initiatives and focus.
- Ability to collaborate on advanced education for partner firms.
- Has a passion to win; champions change and innovation; sets expectations and standards; motivates others to follow; addresses conflict and accepts ownership and accountability; inspires trust.
- Critical that the candidate is comfortable working in a team environment – must be willing to help others on the team and work as a unit.
- Strong understanding of the importance of exchange traded products, mutual funds and alternative investments and able to discuss the benefits of such within partner firms current business plan (i.e. using active alongside passive).
- 8+ years outside sales and/or relationship management experience with ETNs, mutual funds, separate accounts or hedge funds
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and sales presentation skills
- BA/BS degree
- CFP, CIMA, CPWA or CFA preferred
- NASD series 7 and 63 securities licenses required
- Clean compliance U4 record required
- Role is based in Boston, however, may also be based in New York City
