Job description: Reports directly to Controller/Director of Finance. Focuses primarily on Accounts Receivable and Revenue recognition, physician compensation processes and related postings to financial systems, payroll processing for all other employees and cash collections reporting. Other ad hoc analyses as requested by Controller/Director of Finance or CFO.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform regular, no less than monthly, reporting of accounts receivable activity and related management reports, reconciliations and posting of related information into the financial accounting system
- Prepare regular, no less than monthly, revenue recognition evaluations and related posting of same into the financial accounting system
- Prepare recurring payrolls for physicians as well as all other employees and related posting of information into the financial accounting systems
- Assist in preparation of financial and tax reports, as needed
- Perform such other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time – quite often on short notice - by the Controller/Director of Finance or CFO.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- A Bachelors degree in accounting, or a Bachelors degree in business with emphasis in accounting, is required.
- Degree(s) must be from a credible college or university
- Must be a perfectionist by nature, with no tolerance for financial sloppiness.
- Must be highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data.
- Must be highly skilled in use of Excel Spreadsheets.
- Must be skilled in use of MS Word and must be a very good writer in order to handle the occasional administrative needs of the department.
- Must have very good verbal skills.
- Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures.
- A minimum of 2 years accounting experience, preferably in healthcare, is required.
