Front Range Sports Network is a locally owned radio broadcast company that operates Jack FM (105.5FM), ESPN Deportes (87.7FM), and 102.3 ESPN (102.3FM). Our studios are located in southeast Denver. The company operates in a high energy environment and requires a person that is self-motivated.    

 

Role Summary

This position is responsible for the overall operation of the accounting system and reports to an interim CFO. The position interfaces with all departments of the company and operates in a team of accounting people that includes a payroll clerk, office manager, and a billing (traffic) person.

 

Role Responsibilities

·         Responsible for performing all aspects of accounting including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, and various other roles

·         Accounts receivable collection and management is a major responsibility of this position, this also includes checking credit applications for companies that will air commercials on our stations

·         Duties require broad conceptual judgment, initiative and ability to deal with routine accounting issues

·         Accounts payable duties to include posting of invoices to QuickBooks, payment of invoices when due, assisting the president with review of invoices due, assistance with management of cash balances, managing expense reimbursements, and capturing “hard costs” for inclusion into commission calculations

·         Prepare monthly reconciliation of bank accounts

·         Complete monthly reconciliation of various general ledger accounts

·         Prepare and enter monthly journal entries for closing books

·         Prepare monthly revenue analysis worksheet

·         Prepare monthly expense analysis and budget review

·         Perform the bulk of the activities of the Accounting Department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements, and budget variance

·         Act as a backup to the payroll clerk to occasionally assist with various payroll projects and to act as a backup in the case of illness or vacations

·         Assist CPA with annual tax return preparation by preparing necessary schedules and reports.

 

Qualifications Required/Preferred

·         5 years experience in a full-charge bookkeeping capacity

·         Accounts receivable management and collection skills are a must

·         QuickBooks accounting experience is required

·         Radio station experience is preferred
