Staff Accountant

Needed Full time opportunity in the East Memphis Airport area for a growing local Business.

Compensation is Commensurate with experience. Position will report directly to company’s CFO.

JOB Requirements:

This Position will be supporting the CFO and senior Accountant in carrying out the responsibilities of the Finance/Accounting Department.

Must be familiar with corporate accounting practices/GAAP and be able to perform month-end close responsibilities including preparation of G/L entries, Account Analysis account reconciliation.

Education Requirements

Bachelors Degree in Accounting with 2 Year’s experience is preferred but candidates with 4+ years of related experience would also receive serious consideration.

Familiarity with peachtree and quick books is preferred but candidate must be comfortable with using other major software is absolutely required.

Intermediate to Advanced Ms Excel experience is also required.

Preferred candidate will exhibit drive, energy, initiative and the ability to initiate and complete projects with minimal direction or oversight.

Staff Accountant Job Description

To Support the CFO and senior Accountant in carrying out the responsibilities of the Finance/ Accounting Department.

To relieve the CFO and Senior Accountant of certain responsibilities that will allow them to spend greater portion of their time on Financial Statement preparation and tax analysis, Budget and Variance issues and Forecasting.

Summary of essential job functions

Maintain Purchase Order Processing system.

Prepare and Analyze account reconciliations and accruals.

Manager employee credit card applications and charges.

Process Accounts Payable paperwork at completion of the check run.

Prepare Labels, Correspondences and maintan files as needed with in department.

Assit CFO with 401-(K) and payroll system.

Assist the CFO in tracking and maintaining company insurance polices ( except Employee benefits, which are maintained by the Hr department)

Assist  the CFO and facility support and security issues.

Skills and Abilities

A Bachelor degree in Accounting, OR Bachelors degree in business with emphasis in accounting is required.

Degree(S) must be from a credible college or university.

Must be a Perfectionist by nature with no tolerance for financial sloppiness.

Must be highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data.

Must be highly skilled in use of EXCEL spreadsheets; and MS Word in order to handle the occasional administrative needs of the department. Also,  Proficiency in quick books, quicken and peach tree software.

Must have good verbal skills.

Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done especially when important deadline cause greater than normal department pressure.

A minimum of 2 years experience in accounting is required.
