Accounting Principals is seeking a Staff Accountant for a company located in Cool Springs. This position would open doors for a motivated individual who wants to take their career to the next level.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Will be responsible for maintaining the consolidation software package (Cognos Finance), which may include writing reports, process improvements, security and maintenance duties, etc. This includes implementation of a new consolidation software package.
? Point person for certain business units. Ensures accurate and timely reporting and consolidation as appropriate for these entities at corporate for monthly actual results, forecasts and budgets.
? Monthly balance sheet reviews for business units
? Quarterly and annual reporting in compliance with SEC regulations. Preparation of certain Quarter and Year End schedules and footnote disclosures; assists in preparation of Annual Report, 10K and 10Q filings and audit work papers. Helps coordinate quarterly closes, annual audit and work with external auditors to complete the consolidated audit and related reporting.
? Assists in the completion of annual budget for business units.
? Reviews/enforces consistency in reporting, application of financial policies, use of chart of accounts, etc. among operating units. Investigate variances and resolve with units.
? Responsible for monthly workers compensation analysis for individual business units.
? Responsible for the Foundation entity accounting and reporting.
? Prepares and distributes the monthly CVA reporting to the responsible parties at corporate.
? Maintains the lease database related reporting.
? Back up SOX compliance point person at corporate.
? Review and work with appropriate personnel to analyze and manage certain insurance accruals or incentive accruals; work with units and other corporate departments on related accounting issues.
? Other special projects including helping update financial policies and procedures, due diligence, SOX
REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge of consolidation and elimination issues.
? Previous experience with consolidation software desirable.
? Strong Microsoft Office skills required.
? Knowledgeable in accounting, GAAP and SEC rules and regulations and able to research unknowns and communicate answers. Keeps up-to-date and has strong desire to learn all aspects of financial reporting.
? Willing to give extra effort during critical times and have a contingency plan if necessary
