Sutter Roseville Medical Center is a designated Level II Trauma Center serving a seven-county region that includes Placer, Yolo, Nevada, Sutter and Yuba counties, and portions of Sacramento and El Dorado counties.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Registered Nurse role focuses primarily on the clinical direction and coordination of a patient-care team in collaboration with the medical staff to provide a full range of patient services. The Registered Nurse will function within the full scope of licensure to provide patient care; assess patient and family needs; implementation of the plan of care; and, review and evaluate the effectiveness. The Registered Nurse also provides care based on the age-related needs of the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient with consideration of their developmental/psychosocial needs, environmental safety, education needs, communication style and level of understanding.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education/ including Licensure/ Certification/ Registration:
Current licensure California RN or Interim Permitee; BLS -Health Care Provider; see attached for department and facility specific requirements. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BS preferred.
Knowledge:
Must have demonstrated knowledge of basic nursing skills and effective English written and communication skills.
Unit Specified:
EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT:
ACLS within 6 months of start date and must maintain recognition.
Interpretation of Basic Arrhythmia Test upon hire or within 2 weeks of completion of the course.
Anti-arrhythmic/hemodynamic drug test upon hire or within 2 weeks of class.
Trauma Nursing Core Curriculum (TNCC) required within 1 year of hire and maintain verification.
Mobile Intensive Care Nurse Certification (MICN) within 1 year of start date and must maintain recognition.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) recognition within 6 months of start date and must maintain recognition.
New employees without Emergency Department experience; ENA online course or equivalent within 6 months of hire.
Experience:
Minimum of six (6) months area specific acute care experience within the last two (2) years - preferred.
Skills:
Independently practices and prioritize multiple demands in a ever-changing environment. Good interpersonal, communication (both oral and written) and teamwork skills is required.
