Staff Nurse (Residential Treatment Facility) Job in Berwyn 19312, Pennsylvania US

Melmark is currently seeking experienced LPNs and RN’s to join our New Residential Treatment Facility serving children with intellectual disabilities and significant behavioral challenges. The Residential Treatment Facility provides assessment and treatment services within a collaborative medical and behavioral model.  

 

Melmark is a non-profit, comprehensive multi- service provider of residential, educational, therapeutic, and recreational services for children and adults with developmental disabilities including autism spectrum disorders, acquired brain injury, other neurological and genetic disorders, and related challenging behaviors.  Melmark is located in Berwyn, PA (a beautiful suburb of Philadelphia on the “main-line").

 

The Children’s RTF Nurse is responsible for assessing, implementing and evaluating the delivery of client’s health care appropriate to ages and populations served. This position assumes the primary role in providing healthcare to clients assigned by Melmark.  Maintains the health care of the clients and students and works collaboratively with the other members of the multidisciplinary treatment team.

Job Requirements:

 

Education/Training:   Licensed LPN from an accredited school or an RN graduate of an accredited school of nursing.  Bachelor’s degree preferred.


Certifications/Licensure:
 Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse through the Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners.  Current CPR and First Aid certification and 24 hours of in-service training yearly.  Successful completion of employer provided certification in CPR, First Aid, Medication Administration and Crisis Intervention.  Must have held a US Driver’s License for a minimum of two years and must be at least twenty-one (21) years old.  Ability to meet approved Melmark driver status preferred.


Skill(s):
  Nursing skills gained through education, experience and training.


Experience:
  Prior experience in a neurobehavioral stabilization unit or intensive residential setting strongly preferred.
