Staff Pharmacist – Patient Consultation

Part Time Shift Schedule - Job# 15193:

Saturday 10am-6:30pm AZ
Sunday 7am-3:30pm AZ
Monday 7am-3:30pm AZ

JOB SUMMARY:

Analyze and provide information on drug therapies, appropriate dosing, and drug interactions/duplications, medication adverse effects, product stability, tablet identifications. Interpret prescriptions and appropriately handle incoming calls where patient has questions on what was dispensed. Address clinical questions, including pharmacy state law requirements.

Submit review for early refills on controlled substances. Interact with doctors’ offices. Obtain clarifications on prescriptions that were not clarified appropriately when filled for patient. Occasionally take new prescriptions. Transfer prescriptions. Contact manufacturers for product information that is not readily available for patients.

Provide quality customer service to callers. Aid contact center personnel with coverage checks/therapeutic alternatives. Assist other departments by providing needed, non-clinical information in escalated situations. Miscellaneous work-related tasks or projects assigned by management.

This position is eligible for “Work at Home.” Must reside within approximately one hour distance to ESI location. There is a mandatory quarterly onsite meeting. Transition to working from home depends on production and quality at goal levels and ability to self manage.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS TO ENTER THE JOB:

Formal Education and/or Training:

Bachelors in Pharmacy or Pharm D

 

Years of Experience:

1-2 years in retail pharmacy setting preferred. Knowledge of PBM industry/managed care industry helpful

Licensures/Certifications:

Licensed pharmacist in the state of employ that is in good standing with the Board of Pharmacy

Computer or Other Skills:

Computer skills such as typing, e-mail, and the ability to learn and work with multiple computer programs.

 

Knowledge and Abilities:

Ability to read and interpret prescriptions. Ability to work professionally and efficiently. Advanced problem solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve issues. Flexibility to adapt in a changing environment.
