SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Staff Engineer who is practical will implement specific general assignments/projects that provide validated, innovative, useful cost effective product designs in a team based environment. The candidate should have experience in plastic part design for single use medical devices, injection molding catheter construction techniques.
RESPONSIBILTIES
- Candidate will work with Physician partners their staff, to develop various prototypes, proof of concepts, alternative designs as part of early product development.
- Develop sustain accurate documentation of shop orders, methods, concepts, drawings and devices, in Contribution to the intellectual property position of the company through invention patent applications.
- Participate, plan coordinate in in-vitro in-vivo studies including human animal evaluations as part of physician interactions product development activities.
- Leading managing technicians assemblers.
- Organizes activities with outside suppliers consultants to guarantee the delivery of supplies or services needed to meet scheduled timelines. Evaluate failure modes conduct technical risk analysis.
- Mulititask on various projects or multiple activities on 1 project.
- Employs intensive varied knowledge of engineering principles practices in broad areas of assignments related fields.
- Makes decisions autonomously on engineering problems methods, represents the organization in conferences to resolve important questions to plan coordinate work.
- Requires the use of advanced techniques the modification broadening of practices, theories precepts of his/her field related sciences disciplines.
- Supervision guidance related largely to policy matters, overall requirements, novel ideas critical issues.
- Consults with supervisor concerning strange problems developments.
- In a supervisory role, directs, plans, coordinates develops a large important engineering project or a number of small projects with multiple complex facets.
- Work is expected to result in the development of new or refined methods, equipment, materials, processes /or products.
- As staff specialist, creates assesses plans criteria for a variety of projects activities to be carried out by others.
- Analyzes the feasibility soundness of proposed engineering evaluation tests, products or equipment when necessary data are insufficient or confirmation by testing is advisable.
- Functions as a staff consultant on a technical specialty, a type of facility or equipment, or a program function.
- May technically review, supervise coordinate the work of a small staff of engineers technicians, estimate manpower needs schedules assign work to meet completion date, or, as individual researcher or staff specialist, may be assisted on projects by other engineers or technicians.
- Practices company safety quality policies procedures. Actively requires conformance.
- Responsible for guaranteeing personal company compliance with all company, Federal, State local procedures, regulations policies.
- Responsible for the purchase or creation of equipment that meets environmental, health, safety standards put in place by the company.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Capability to work well independently as a member of a team is required.
- BS in Biomedical, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent discipline with 9+ years of industry experience OR MS with 7+ years industry experience OR a PhD with 5+ years industry experience is required for this position.
- Familiarity in design of plastic parts mechanisms is essential.
- Proven proficiency in using lab equipment for testing purposes desired.
- Skill with Publications or any other technical Reports is preferred.
- This position will require 25-35% travel, nationally internationally.
