Stakeholder Management & Governance VP

My client is a major global financial services provider and they are currently offering a fantastic opportunity for a VP level candidate to come onboard and join their Chief Controls Office, CIB Infrastructure team.

This team is responsible for coordinating all existing control elements into a consistent and logical model, and will ensure future developments in the business are integrated into this model.

The role holder will be responsible for the development of an integrated stakeholder engagement and communications strategy and delivery plan for the Chief Controls Officer and other demands of the Chief Operations Officer function.

 

Core accountabilities

 

Engagement Planning

Responsible for ensuring a stakeholder engagement strategy and plan is in place for the Chief Controls Office function.

Lead the relationship with Corporate Communications and Chief Controls Office team to ensure that best practice on engagement is built into the overall strategy and plan.

 

Engagement Delivery

Work with the COO, Chief Controls Officer and other members of the Leadership Team to ensure delivery of the engagement strategy and plan. They will be responsible for organising and setting up all key engagement activities to support the programme.

Lead the relationship with Corporate Communications and HR to ensure the end-to-end delivery of all Chief Controls Officer communications, supporting the overall employee proposition.

 

Programme Management

Work closely with the Chief Controls Office PMO to ensure that engagement risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies are collated and reported effectively.

Ensure the overall engagement plan links to any major project plan.

Put in place tracking and monitoring to measure the success of engagement activities in order to ensure strategies and plans remain appropriate and value adding and to drive continuous improvement in the approaches.

Ensure any budget requirements for engagement are forecasted and fed into the Business Management team.

 

Executive Presentations

Responsible for creating executive level presentations on behalf of the Chief Controls Officer that will be used to present at senior management meetings such as CIB Executive Committee and the group-wide Management Business Reviews and to demonstrate the progress of the Chief Controls Office function and its future plans.

 

Cultural Change Management

Responsibility for helping to drive the required cultural change within CIB from a controls perspective. This will involve liaising with the teams across the Chief Controls Office to ensure the correct communications are in place, and assisting function leads with the required changes in behaviour.

 

Management of Governance

Ensure that the governance structure in place is adhered to and continues to be appropriate as the Chief Controls Office function evolves over time.

Oversee the running of the Controls Committee and supporting Working Groups, including terms of reference, agendas, papers and logistics and maintaining overall governance.

 

People Management

Deputise for the team’s COO as required and will have some supervisory responsibilities across the team. There will be significant cross matrix management opportunities as well as wider opportunities to influence.

 

Stakeholder Management

Manage stakeholders to ensure a high level of involvement and full buy-in to maintain strong success of all deliverables.

Understand the expectations of all stakeholder groups and individuals; manage towards their expectations and frequently communicate with them.

 

The role will also require analysis of key stakeholders to ensure that the key stakeholders are receiving the appropriate message, which is tailored to their needs and the needs of the Chief Controls Office.

 

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will have a strong communications and engagement background as well as planning experience. The candidate will also have strong experience creating presentations at an executive board level and will additionally have experience of managing senior stakeholders at Director and Managing Director levels within an operational or business management context.

Experience within Financial Services is strongly preferred although is not essential.
