Stamping Tool Room Manager Job in Parsippany, New Jersey US

Responsibility for the oversight and coordination of on-time/in-budget completion of all tooling projects; ensuring that all tooling projects result in robustly operating tools that consistently produce quality product at the required rates; establishing and maintaining staffing and equipment in order to achieve goals of the Tool Room.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience:

 

·        Two-year engineering, technical or management degree or equivalent experience; a 4-year bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical or management discipline is preferred.

·        Minimum of 10 years experience in a manufacturing environment; a minimum of 5 years experience managing personnel involved in tool fabrication, assembly and debugging. 

·        Experience in automotive and/or medical industries is preferable. 

·        Experience with high-volume and/or tight-tolerance, progressively stamped metal products preferable.

·        Experience creating and monitoring department budgets and/or capital equipment expenditures.

·        Ability to read blueprints and other technical documents. Familiar with CAD software. Understanding of ANSI/ISO drawing standards and GDT dimensioning preferable.

·        Knowledge of quality inspection tools and methods preferable.  Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) tools and methods also preferable.

·        Knowledge of ISO/TS Quality Systems.

·        Knowledge of TQM, Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing principles preferable.

·        Knowledge of insert molding tooling and processes preferred.

·        Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint; MRP or ERP software preferred.

·        Exceptional analytical/computational skills; familiarity with problem-solving tools and techniques.

·        Excellent verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated high level of negotiation and conflict-resolution skills; demonstrated decision-making capability.
