State Accountant
About the Job
Accelerated growth has provided this BRW Top 500 market leader, in the construction industry, to appoint a hands on Accountant for the Brisbane business. This role will appeal to those with a desire to work across all areas of the business and further develop their commercial acumen.
Reporting to the Queensland State Manager you will be responsible for the day to day running of the finance function. Duties will include:
Manage day to day functions of the Accounts Team
Active hands-on role in Accounts payable, Accounts receivable and Payroll
Oversee Overhead expenses allocation Job cost allocation
Prepare all statutory business returns which include BAS, Superannuation, Work cover and Payroll Tax
Reconciliation of General Ledger, Subsidiary Ledgers Bank Statements
Cash flow management including EFT(cheque) payments, progress claims debtors collections
Arrange Bank Guarantees for projects and follow up on overdue guarantees
Maintain Fixed Asset Register
Special assignments and ad hoc reporting
You will be degree and CA/CPA qualified or currently completing your CA or CPA studies. Experience in the construction industry will be highly desired. You will need to be proactive and be willing to take ownership of this position.
