Position Summary:

 

The Statistician will play a key role in designing and executing studies to analyze aspects of the rapidly evolving healthcare technology industry. Specifically, under the supervision of the Director of Business Intelligence, the Statistician will study the value of utilizing health information technologies. For example, the Statistician may create studies to analyze the impact of e-prescribing on hospitalization rates, or analyze the impact of regulatory incentive programs on e-prescribing adoption.  In addition, the Statistician will also provide thought leadership for research and process improvement in other areas of the firm.


Responsibilities:

·         Lead multiple complex and cross-functional statistical research projects that may include:

o        Data mining and predictive analytics

o        Trending analysis

o        Root cause analysis and complex problem solving

o        Modeling

·         Collaborate with industry partners to understand issues, collect data and structure statistical research projects

·         Understand basic business processes and support business operational research

·         Ability to execute complete research process, including:

o        Scoping research study

o        Selecting appropriate data sets

o        Extracting and cleansing data

o        Performing analytics

o        Interpreting, documenting and presenting results

Qualifications:

Required:

·         M.S. in statistics, economics or related field

·         4+ years of relevant work experience

·         Demonstrated experience working in statistical research

·         Ability to travel up to 20%

Preferred:

·         Ph.D. in statistics, economics or related field

·         Health Information Technology background

·         Ability to effectively communicate results to both highly-technical and C-level audiences

·         Thorough understanding of core statistical concepts and models and ability to explain these concepts to others

·         Experience with screening and factorial designs, categorical data analysis, regression analysis, non-parametric techniques, and discrete distributions

·         Experience with a statistical package, preferably SPSS or R

·         Advanced written and oral communications skills

·         A basic understanding of data architecture and SQL

·         Good problem-solving skills with attention to detail

·         Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

·         High standard of integrity

Preferred:

·         Advanced proficiency using SPSS
