The role: Statistician
As a Statistician, you will help evaluate and improve Google's ads. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and analysts on a wide range of problems. This position will bring analytical rigor and statistical methods to the challenges of measuring ads quality, looking into problems such as how to optimize both our ads quality and our revenue or how to build models of end user behavior.
Responsibilities:
- Research and develop methods for measuring and analyzing ads quality.
- Research new algorithms and methods for optimizing ads quality and revenue.
- Research new ways for modeling end user behavior.
- Lead investigations into multiple streams of ads quality data.
- Design experiments to answer targeted questions.
Minimum Qualifications:
- MS/PhD preferred in CS or statistics.
- 2 years of experience in areas such as data.
- Experience in statistical software (R, S-Plus, SAS, or similar).
- Experience with databases and scripting languages (such as Python).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated leadership and self-direction.
- Ability to draw conclusions from data and recommend actions.
- Demonstrated willingness to both teach others and learn new techniques.
