THE OPPORTUNITY
You will join the Biological Systems Research Team of Philip Morris Products SA based in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. The role of this team is to develop and validate state of the art methods and tools for the assessment of new products with the potential to reduce the risks of smoking-related diseases.
As a key part of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team that executes scientifically and technically challenging projects, you will bring your statistical skills and experience to recommend analytical design for a range of in-vitro,and in-vivo studies and clinical trials. This requires that you interact closely with a wide range of experts, including computational biologists, mathematicians, and experimental scientists.
Specifically, you will:
- Contribute to the design of in-vitro, in-vivo, and clinical studies and recommend the most appropriate statistical procedures for evaluation of the outcome of studies.
- Write the statistical analysis plans
- Perform sample size and power calculations, stratification and randomization of studies
- Perform statistical analyses, interpret statistical results, and prepare summaries for reports and manuscripts intended for publication in peer reviewed journals
- Develop statistical and computational tools that support these activities
QUALIFICATIONS
- Masters Degree in statistics or biostatistics
- At least three years of practical experience in health related research
- Experienced in statistical software (SAS, R)
- Good understanding of international guidelines and standards including ICH,
CDISC, etc.) - Competent in experimental design, descriptive and inferential statistics
- Practical experience in a project-oriented, deadline-driven team environment
- Fluency in both written and spoken English is a must
