Sr. Data Mining Analyst Lead - COLUMBUS, OHIO (location required)
This position will be within Branch Planning, a team within Chase's Retail Distribution Network group that focuses primarily on the support of our Retail Real Estate team in their ongoing work with Chase's retail branch network.Preferred candidate will have a passion for data and how that information contributes to the analytical "stories" we are tasked with telling.
They will have expertise in effective presentation and visualization of key data and findings.This position will interface directly with the data mining team lead on a regular basis, and will also be called upon to interact with senior executives (as clients) as needed.
The employee will have opportunity to lead analytical projects, delivering each aspect of the project from start to finish including presentation of results.The type of projects/issues presented to this individual can be of the highest level of difficulty, each with the chance of having significant impact to the business.
These projects can be of an unstructured nature - as such, the analyst will be expected to quickly assess and comprehend the situation then develop a practical, efficient problem-solving strategy.
The desired approach would then be confidently communicated to executives in a straight-forward way with specifics on timing and expectations.

Qualifications
Required SkillsPractical expertise in statistical inference and prediction such as generalized linear models, non-linear models, time series, survival analysis and decision tree models.Critical thinking and data analysis skillsStrong oral and interpersonal communication skillsStatistical programming experience with the ability to quickly learn to build customized code in SAS and SQLProficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred SkillsFamiliarity with UNIX environment and enterprise data systems (DB2 or Oracle)SAS Base and Advanced CertificationExperience in spatial data analysisEducational RequirementMaster's or PhD degree in a quantitative field such as: Statistics, Biostatistics, Applied Mathematics, Econometrics, MBS (with quantitative focus), Computing and Information Theory, Operations Research, or Industrial / Electrical Engineering.
Professional BackgroundFinancial service or Retail industry experience desired, but we are open to evaluating candidates from any industry or academic institution, recent top graduates, and soon-to-graduate top graduates with analytics background.
