Prestigious City based Bank are seeking a Payments specialist who understands process and can add value as well as being highly IT literate
Sterling and Euro Settlements is part of the Banking Operations team and are responsible for the settlement of the Bank’s and its customers’ high value sterling and euro payments.
The team input, repair, authorise and monitor both Manual and STP (Straight Through Process) payment instructions quickly and accurately.
The team is responsible for forecasting and managing the Bank’s Euro position
The team are responsible for investigating and resolving payment queries and providing a professional customer service.
Taking a pro-active role in the initiation , design, testing and implementation of changes to business processes and systems and seeking to become an ‘expert’ in all technical aspects of the operations;
Acting as a point of referral for team and resolution of operational and technical issues as they arise;
Leading on business continuity planning, testing and analysis;
The successful applicant will need to demonstrate strengths in the following areas:-
Self-motivation and organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise and switch between urgent operational issues;
Analytical and communication skills, with the ability to understand an operational problem, evaluate potential solutions and make necessary recommendations to managers;
The ability to use initiative to identify and implement solutions or improvements to processes;
Confident in the use of Excel and other Microsoft products;
An understanding of the sterling and euro settlements processes, which would include knowledge of T24 and SAA in the settlement of payments
