Storage Analyst Job in Edmonton, Alberta Canada
Eagle is currently seeking one (1) Storage Analyst. This contract opportunity is slated to begin in June, and is projected to be twelve (12) months in length.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Adhering to all established policies, procedures, standards, guidelines and practices;
- Providing file system services (file structure, access, sharing, quotas and security rights);
- Maintaining Distributed File System, personal, shared and roaming profile file system support for the organization’s domain;
- Maintaining, supporting and enhancing enterprise storage software/hardware products under the supervision and direction of the Storage Operations Team Lead;
- Providing support for Backup and Recovery Services including the hardware and software required to manage an environment of more than 1500 client nodes;
- Maintaining/updating storage procedures, processes documentation, configuration diagrams and spreadsheets;
- Establishing proper communications with clients, vendors, and internal support groups;
- Providing required technical assistance and consultation to internal technical teams; and,
- Participating in domain migrations.
Skills and Qualifications
The qualified candidate must have:
- A related degree/diploma/certification with 5 years IT industry experience;
- Industry experience working in a storage environment as a storage support analyst;
- Extensive demonstrated knowledge of storage architecture and technologies;
- Extensive demonstrated knowledge of backup/restore software and hardware;
- Demonstrated experience with IBM Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) 5.x and/or 6.x;
- Experience with replication technologies;
- Experience working with Brocade switches, directors and routers;
- Working level knowledge of applicable programming and scripting languages;
- Broad knowledge of one or more of the OS platforms that connect to the shared storage environment (Windows, Linux, VMWare, AIX, HPUX, Solaris);
- Experience configuring LPARs in an IBM pSeries environment;
- Experience with IBM Tape Systems; including TS75xx, TS35xx, TS11xx;
- Experience with EMC Control Center;
- Experience with EMC VMAX and/or VNX hardware and software;
- Experience with Remedy Action Request System (ITSM); and,
- Experience with Remote Access software (Terminal Services, VPN, Citrix).
