Position Summary Provide leadership and direction in store operations by clearly articulating the Company¿s strategic plan and delegating responsibilities to implement training methods and merchandising techniques which will achieve the Company¿s objectives. Store Director is held accountable for all departments and customers in the store. Adhere to the Company¿s Statement of Values, Quality Policy, Six Promises, and Philosophy on the Treatment of Employees and all Company policies and procedures. Job Responsibilities Develop merchandising techniques, and appropriate employee training, to increase sales and develop more efficient store operations in order to meet changing customer requirements and the Company¿s business plans. Assist in the development and administration of a fiscal plan in order to efficiently and accurately meet customer requirements while striving to lower controllable expenses, achieve gross profit goals, and maximize profits. Analyze the Customer Satisfaction Index, identify areas needing improvement, and design programs and procedures to meet objectives. Analyze the Employee Satisfaction Index, identify areas needing improvement, and use communication processes, reward and recognition programs and training to reduce employee turnover and improve the index. Direct efforts of Department Managers to implement training and communication processes, which promote the continuous development of employees and help to identify candidates for the Management Selection Process. Direct and maintain safety programs and procedures to ensure the safety of customers and employees by communicating safety procedures, investigating complaints and accident reports, and performing physical inspection of store facilities and equipment to ensure compliance with local, state, and OSHA regulations. Understand and comply with all federal, state and local laws and government programs (EEO, ADA, WIC program, federal tobacco and state liquor regulations). Foster good working relations with union members and representatives by addressing their concerns and articulating the Company¿s interpretation of the labor agreement and policies in a consistent manner. Ensure that proper procedures are being followed so that store meets out-of-stock percentage goal. Promote the continuous development of employees and identify candidates for Management Development Process. Provide leadership that promotes and exemplifies a Passion for Food. Develop competencies of department managers in proper utilization of tools and technology available to meet business objectives; i.e., periscope, etc. Sponsor and attend events in the surrounding areas to ensure Giant Eagle's commitment to the betterment of the community. Maintain strong understanding of store operations in a retail environment Interpret and articulate the intent of a collective bargaining agreement Responsible for budget development, expense control and/or revenue generation for a department. Responsible for direct and indirect supervision of team members in one or more departments.
