Alexander Black Recruitment is urgently looking for a Professional Services Software Engineer to join a high profile software vendor based in London’s busy City district.
Our client is a huge software vendor with over 200 staff and 400 clients worldwide, supplying optimised trade management solutions to financial services companies throughout the world. They are financially stable and use only the latest technology to service their clients. Bucking the recession, they are growing their professional services team to cope with increased demand.
They are looking for an individual with over 2 year’s software engineering experience in a financial institution with specific expertise using business messaging applications and protocols such as FIX or SWIFT. The ideal candidate will also have a strong understanding of the STP Trade Flow (Straight Through Processing) or will have come from a trade processing business.
Candidates MUST have:
- Degree in computer science or related field
- At least 2 years experience of Build Management, integrating and configuring software applications in the Financial Services sector.
- Messaging systems and protocols (e.g. FIX, SWIFT) with SQL Server/Oracle database.
- Previous experience in a collaborative, requirements or systems analyst role involving customers and technical specialists.
- Advanced technical problem resolution, escalations and service skills
- Experience programming, installing, testing custom solutions on customer site or remotely
- Financial software products.
- Visual Studio.Net, Windows OS.
- OO Design Methodology.
- Component Technologies e.g. COM/DCOM.
- Internet Technologies ASP, XML.
- Application of parallel programming technologies,
- Application optimization in a client server cluster environment
- Software installation in a variety of technical environments
- Windows and web application set-up and configuration
