Role Summary/Purpose
Essential Responsibilities
* Provide Direct customer contact and A E/EPC firm interface to drive specifications for the CCS solution portfolio in focused vertical markets. * The Strategic Account Managers responsibilities will focus on for selling solutions that include PLC, Operator Interface, I/O networks, Process, embedded computing, and HMI solutions. * Lead coordinated customer activities with Marketing and other functions while owning customer relationship; grow and maintain a pipeline approx. ~ 2-3 times annual quota. * Works closely with Software Territory Manager peer to ensure cross-pollination between CCS and SW customers. * Identify and initiate different steps in the sales cycles for solutions, potential services, and training. * Input and update opportunities per the GE sales process (close leads within 48 hrs) and ensure SalesForce is updated on a dailey basis. * Drive demand generation activities in the territory by holding seminars around key vertical solutions, training the channel on NPIs, customer beta sites for vertical solutions. * Will need to work closely with the Application Engineers to coordinate account activities that aide in developing opportunities and closing sales.
Qualifications/Requirements
* At least 7 years experience in sales with experience in managing opportunities using a formal sales process. This experience should include, but not limited to, technical solution sales experience for plant floor automation, DCS applications, and OEM equipment. * Technical Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Excellent presentation skills. * Strong personal networking skills while also comfortable cold calling. * Strong problem solving skills and a high degree of creativity/resourcefulness and organization. * Strong business and finance acumen. * Customer focused strong interpersonal skills. * Working Knowledge of MS Office based products. * Working knowledge of CRM systems for pipeline and opportunity management. * Travel is required and is estimated to be 20%.
Desired Characteristics
