Job Description  

   

The Strategic Alliances Director directs the establishment, development and expansion of revenue-producing relationships with strategic business partners that enhance Experian's industry positioning.  In this position, the director will be responsible substantially for new business development of alliances that leverages Experian's capabilities within the digital media and addressability marketplace.  Upon closing new alliance opportunities, the Director will develop, plan, direct and control strategic short and long-term financial and operational goals for the alliance by working with cross-functional teams within Experian and the third party alliance organization.  He or she provides leadership both internally and externally.

The Strategic Alliances Director is responsible for the identification and development of new opportunities based on internal business strategies and priorities.  He or she directs the qualification and establishment of formal relationships with businesses operating in digital media and evaluates potential business partners to determine strategic fit within the company business strategy.  He or she leads relationship and contract negotiations with key alliance partners, provides strategic direction for third-party alliances, and oversees the development and implementation of joint business plans for product development, delivery and sales functions with current partners.  Finally, the Strategic Alliances Director assesses plan achievement relative to joint goals and objectives and develops and implements plan improvements.

The Director of Strategic Alliances will report directly to the Vice President of Strategic Alliances.  The key responsibilities/competencies are as follows:

*         Leader in the organization who successfully identifies, pursues and closes new strategic alliance opportunities that leverage Experian's capabilities within the digital media and addressability marketplace. 

*         Establish strong internal relationships with key leaders and executive management in the company, including the heads of sales and marketing teams who will be crucial in closing opportunities and growing relationships.

*         Personally manage key strategic alliances or alliance managers and lead key strategic projects.

*         Visionary thinker who is tactful and relentless in accomplishing mutually beneficial objectives.

*         Complex problem solver through the ability to see the big picture as well as fine detail.

The core competencies required for this position include:

*         MBA and or law degree

*         8+ years functional experience, including 3+ years within the digital media industry

*         Extensive experience identifying, pursuing and closing successful strategic alliances and partnerships, as well as continuing to grow such opportunities.

*         Extensive experience successfully negotiating complex agreements.

*         Successful track record of identifying opportunities to reduce costs and increase revenue through innovation and strategic alliances.

*         High level of comfort with complex financial analysis and complex legal issues.

*         Proven track record of successfully building relationships and negotiating (creative thinker) with senior executives within organizations.

*         Excellent leadership skills with ability to influence, collaborate and make decisions.

*         Experience with marketing services industry and related product lines.

*         Proficient in drafting term sheets and other partnership documents.

*         Ability to develop, implement and execute on go-to-market strategies.
