Our client in the Syracuse area is looking for a Strategic Buyer. As a Strategic Buyer, this person will be charged with completing the tactical responsibilities of Procurement that support the Business Line’s strategic objectives. The successful candidate will be someone who is eager to accept additional responsibilities and is seeking career advancement opportunities. This company's products are highly technical, so a Strategic Buyer who also has an engineering background will be highly desired. This person will play a critical role in ensuring that the supply chain function can provide on time delivery, cost and quality.
Responsibilities include: Submit and track RFQs. Negotiate as required to achieve target cost and lead time or prevent cost increases, Execution and follow up of purchase orders, Generate and publish supplier scorecards as required, and assist with supplier evaluations .
Qualfied candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or Engineering. Minimum of two to four years of procurement experience. Microsoft Excel experience (intermediate level) required. SAP experience preferred, Lean Six Sigma manufacturing experience preferred.
