Strategic Commodity Manager – Electronic Components
In this position you will manage the Electronic Components commodity and related suppliers. Work to ensure that supply base partners, and extended supply chain, meet Hypertherm's business requirements with respect to; New Product Development, delivery, quality, and cost. Responsible for surveying, contingency planning and reporting on the status of the commodity marketplace.
- Competitively bid work and negotiate contracts. Make decisions on where to place contracts with external partners that best meet Hypertherm's requirements.
- Manage supplier performance reviews. Create data driven reports summarizing supplier performance. Communicate Hypertherm's business forecasts and ensure inventory and capacity is in place to meet the needs of the Business Teams.
- Partner with New Product Development teams to ensure that a stable, cost effective supply chain is developed for all new product introductions.
- Research and report on risk throughout the supply chain to ensure continuity of supply. Work with internal partners to identify opportunities to reduce risk.
- Survey the component marketplace to identify best-fit suppliers.
- Work with supply base to drive waste out of the value stream.
Qualifications:
Required
3+ yrs experience in Electronic Component Procurement or Supply Chain Management.
- Experience in purchasing through distribution
- Advanced knowledge of Purchasing Modules of ERP
- Knowledge of and experience with Engineering Change Processes
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Strong written and verbal presentation and communication skills
- Strong negotiations skills
- Contract creation skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of and experience in manufacturing environment with engineered parts
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Certified Purchasing Manager or APICS CPIM
- Green Belt Certified
- Knowledge of Lean/JIT production
- Knowledge of Oracle or similar ERP system
