This also includes ongoing monitoring against the framework which will better inform compliance with both internal policy and procedures (Audit, Operational Risk, Sox etc) and external regulations (Fed, FSA etc).
Main Duties:
Challenge the governance structure, documentation standards and control environment currently employed in MR and CR and where applicable PC.
Confirm/re-define the governance model and standards (i.e. people, risk control awareness/culture, approach, empowerment, escalation).
Assist in managing junior staff on projects and providing timely feedback to staff.
Present results of projects to senior management and interested external parties (including Audit and regulators)
Assist Strategic Controls directors in challenging scope observations raised by Internal Audit, and reviewing/challenging the adequacy (from a controls perspective) and sustainability of management’s responses to regulatory/External Audit findings.
Work with management to improve the governance structure, documentation standards and control environment within MR and CR.
Review challenge core policy procedures documentation and oversee required changes to ensure the governance model is robust and adaptive to the increased demands for control and documentation required for regulators / auditors.
Assist in the development implementation of ongoing controls monitoring quality assurance process.
Assist in establishing a communications program for ongoing internal external stakeholder management ensuring the control framework is presented in a transparent, consistent professional manner. Also help to manage the increasing demands from external stakeholders including regulators audit.
Person Requirements Basic Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree
Professional qualification (e.g. ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
Banking or financial services experience
Strong understanding of key risks controls associated with MR and CR in an investment bank.
Internal Audit/External Audit/Operational Risk experience
