The primary mission of the Strategic Inventory Analyst will be to provide the highest customer service level within the working capital constraints of the financial plan. This position is responsible for supporting our inventory management policies and processes, and executes the stocking assortment, velocity segmentation, variability buffers, item inventory policies, and target inventories for parts, supplies, and finished goods and will work with the Supply Chain/Logistics organization in the Richardson, TX corporate offices.
This role will be responsible for analyzing the trade-off between working capital investment and customer service levels utilizing statistical inventory optimization techniques and qualitative analysis. In addition this role will be responsible for executing the seasonal transitions, inventory assortment and levels at all tiers of the distribution network including RDC’s, LDC’s, and stores.
The Strategic Inventory Analyst will:
· Work in the capacity of Inventory Management Optimization Tool (SO99) super user facilitating optimization of inventory parameter setting, functional specifications for integration with SAP APO and ECC service levels, stocking targets, lot sizes, update frequencies, and continuous improvement of settings.
· This individual will work with the strategic inventory manager, product management, sales, marketing, and finance, to validate the strategic inventory strategy and to assure the working capital objectives are met.
Educational / Experience Requirements:
Ÿ Bachelor’s degree in related field (Materials, Operations Management, Business, or Industrial Engineering)
Ÿ Concentration in Statistics and/or Operations Research
Ÿ Master’s degree, preferred
Ÿ 8+ years of experience in Supply Chain
Ÿ 5+ years of experience in Supply or Demand Management
Ÿ 2+ years of Inventory Optimization experience
Ÿ Working knowledge of SAP APO modules (or relevant, transferable skills with i2, Manu, Oracle)
Skill Requirements:
Ÿ Inventory analysis/optimization proficiency; Strong analytical, statistical and problem solving skills
Ÿ Expert understanding of Supply Chain Management principles
Ÿ Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ÿ Excellent leadership, organizational and managerial skill set
Ÿ Proficient in standard Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
Ÿ Experience in SQL preferable
Ÿ Strong functional knowledge of SAP ECC master data requirements; Lot sizing, safety stock, and reorder point logic
Ÿ Self-motivated, positive, and flexible
Ÿ Knowledge of Lennox or HVAC products, preferred
