Strategy Analyst recruitment

Responsibilities
As a Strategy Analyst with the ERS Group, you will work with the Regional Head of Services on a variety of high profile projects that focus on the strategy and operations of Moody's professional services business. You will help analyze and track the performance of the services business, preparing summary analyses for executives at Moody's. You will also support and lead special projects that involve a mix of setting the strategic direction of the services business and implementing operational improvements.

This position requires discipline and organization to successfully oversee projects from start to finish. You should also be innovative yet pragmatic at the same time -- helping brainstorm ideas and devise solutions that are practical, effective, and feasible to implement. It is also important to be comfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment where the pace is fast and the business is growing.

This position is ideally suited for a person who recently completed an undergraduate degree and already has 1-2 years of work experience but is also looking for near-term career growth prior to pursuing an MBA or an advanced degree. Through this position, you will be exposed to senior leaders within Moody's, and you will have opportunities to gain skills and experience related to general management, business operations, and corporate strategy.

Specific responsibilities include the following:
- Analyze the performance of Moody's professional services business in the Americas, evaluating such indicators as consultant utilization and availability, profitability, and sales opportunities
- Develop executive-level presentations, including PL and pipeline analyses, for senior managers
- Prepare periodic summaries of external market indicators (e.g., loan volumes and delinquency rate across commercial banks, interest rate spreads)
- Assist with business planning, including the annual strategic planning process and the monthly financial forecasting process
- Help manage and track deployment of consultants across client engagements
- Help scope and plan projects focused on operational improvements -- determining resource needs, budgets, and work plans
- Undertake and lead projects focused on operational improvements -- for instance, designing and building information resources, selecting and implementing software tools, etc.
- Research special topics of interest to the senior management team within the professional services business -- such as new banking regulations, potential acquisition targets, etc.
- Coordinate day-to-day relationships with external business partners and sub-contractors

Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree from an accredited and internationally recognized institution
- Demonstrated comfort with business concepts, with evidence of prior academic studies in finance, accounting, economics, marketing, and/or organizational behavior
- Prior internship and/or full time work experience with either a software or professional services company (e.g., consulting, tax/audit/accounting, IT outsourcing)
- Strong analytical skills, evidenced through prior work experience, coursework and/or extracurricular involvement
- Track record of leading or participating in projects focused on strategic initiatives and/or operational improvements
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of SharePoint a plus
- Strong evidence of being a self-starter who is disciplined, organized, and attentive to detail
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Minimum fluency in English; Working knowledge of Spanish or Portuguese a plus

The role of Strategy Analyst is based in New York City, working directly with the Regional Head of Services for the Americas (covering both North America and South America).
