Position Requirements:
Fitch Group is seeking a Director to join our Strategy and Corporate Development team in New York.
This team works directly with senior management across Fitch Group, the parent company to Fitch Ratings and Fitch Solutions. The Director will be a key member of the team, supporting a range of strategy projects and analytic initiatives across Fitch Group. In addition, this individual will support the firm's activities with respect to mergers and acquisitions.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Conducting MA-related analysis e.g., gathering information related to prospects, valuation, comparables analysis, etc.
• Conducting financial performance analysis, e.g., working with the Finance and Business Relationship Management teams on a regular basis to analyze the drivers of Fitch's financial performance (market growth, market share, pricing, competitive dynamics, etc.)
• Gathering market intelligence, e.g., proactively monitoring and summarizing market news and competitive developments
• Developing Executive Team- and Board of Directors-level presentations to present key findings and recommendations from projects
• Long-term strategic planning, budgeting, and other project-based initiatives as needed
Limited travel anticipated.
This position is best suited for motivated candidates with a capacity for critical thinking and a desire to work in a dynamic team-oriented environment. The individual should be organized and possess the ability to multi-task effectively and prioritize different assignments.
Qualifications include:
• Bachelors degree required, preferably with degree in business, economics, or similar analytical fields
• Strong written and verbal communication skills along with proven analytical aptitude
• Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• 2+ years of experience involving qualitative and quantitative analysis; strategy consulting, corporate development, or investment banking experience is a plus
