Strategy Manager

Institutional Banking Markets (IBM) is responsible for the provision of products and services to nearly 3000 major corporate, institutional and government clients. This is achieved through origination, structuring and execution of on and off balance sheet products that are enhanced through the efficient application of taxation, accounting, risk and capital management technologies. Institutional Banking Markets is the primary face to the market for all complex financing and advisory functions for the Bank's corporate and government clients.
Corporate Banking Solutions (CBS) delivers dynamic banking solutions to improve our clients' businesses and support Australia's economic development. CBS is responsible for significant revenue in both BPB and IBM. Our goals are:

The CBS Strategy and Risk team is responsible for supporting the CBS EGM and Leadership team in areas of Strategy, Innovation, Productivity and Risk.
Role Purpose:
The purpose of this role is to work with the CBS leadership team to develop and drive the strategic direction of the business.
Key Accountabilities:
Strategic Support
- Frame business issues and apply structured problem solving and commercial acumen to facilitate and drive development of solutions
- Deliver high quality strategic analysis and presentations for CBS EGM / CBS LT
- Drive and support CBS's input into the Strategic Planning Process and business planning support
- Support the EGM and the CBS Leadership Team to shape strategy, business plans (with the BPB and IBM Strategy teams), key priorities and investments; support and monitor progress
- Work with the Leadership team to develop and explore the cross divisional and growth opportunities as well as solutions to business problems
- Support concept development and business case submissions for CBS strategic projects as required
- Undertake/ direct special projects as required performing research, and modelling to develop and support hypotheses, synthesise findings and develop compelling, structured business presentations with clear clearly articulate recommendations to support decision making
- Support Group Executive report preparation (Exco, ERC, board)
Relationship Management
- Build strong, collaborative and value driven relationships with CBS colleagues, key business partners and stakeholders
- Manage key strategy relationships for value (e.g EP)
- Represent CBS in working groups and steering groups as required
- Co-ordination across business units and CBS segments on strategy topics and projects
Leadership and Team
- Be a proactive member of the Strategy and Risk and COO teams, including driving the team culture, cross skilling and supporting other team members
- Proactively drive and represent CBA and CBS vision, values, goals, capabilities, strategic agenda

Qualifications and Experience Required:
- CAN, innovative attitude
- Advanced structured thinking skills
- Advanced verbal, visual and written communication skills, with a creative flair
- Strong analytical skills with solid understanding of drivers in the financial services market, financial information and reporting
- Sound judgement capable of developing independent opinion and defending own views using data;
- Ability to build strong, collaborative, professional and valuable relationships at all levels and with virtual teams
- An active team player, experienced in building team culture, recognizing and actively supporting others, with a positive attitude to situations requiring flexibility and adaptability
- Highly organised and efficient, with an ability to multi-task, adapt to urgent requests, meet tight deadlines, strong sense of urgency and a proactive approach
- Management consulting and financial services experience valuable
