Responsibilities * Maintain a high level of understanding for applicable engineering national and local codes. * Participate in project meetings. * Coordinate with other disciplines on project related topics. * Produce 3D concrete and steel models. * Produce quality deliverables. * Understand and follow the operations design standards manual and the project procedures manual. * Report project progression updates and/or issues to management as required. * Create plan drawings and details. * Check drawings according to design standards and checking procedures. * Applies engineering principles and procedures in performing complex engineering design work. Qualifications * Associates degree in Drafting Technology and 7+ years of Power Plant Design or related field experience; or completion of a vocational training program in drafting and 12+ years of Power Plant Design or related field experience; or high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of 15+ years of Power Plant Design experience. * Effective communication skills (verbal and written). * Ability to use a computer aiding drafting program (AutoCAD, MicroStation) and have a strong knowledge of the latest computer operating systems. * SDS2 experience preferred. * Must be able to represent Kiewit Power Engineers in a professional manner to owners, contractors and vendors. * Utilize Microstation V8 3D, Navis Works, Bentley Structural and SDS2 preferred.
