Structural Designer (SmartPlant 3D)

Description:

SENIOR STRUCTURAL DESIGNER - SmartPlant 3D

Our client a Calgary based EPCM Company is currently recruiting for a Senior Structural Designer to work on a large Alberta based oil and gas project. This is a long term contract position (minimum 1year). All design/drafting work will be completed in the CalgaryAlberta office. The successful candidates will be responsible for drafting and revising all types of civil/structural-related drawings and documents under general supervision.

 

Responsibilities:
Design/Drafting of pipe racks, concrete, pilings, foundations, structural steel, rebar, earthworks, and roads.

Ensure drawings are in accordance with project scope, Client specifications, standards and all applicable codes and regulations
Ensure drawings are dimensionally clear, complete and correct
Ensure drawings are in agreement with the latest vendor print available and the latest information from the Piping and Electrical Departments and the "Model" if applicable
Review vendor and in-house coordination drawings to ensure their compliance with related project requirements
Guide other levels of Drafting personnel assigned to their area on a project
Prepare and check Bills of Material
Develop study drawings for complex structures and foundation work
Assume all or part of Squad Leader's responsibilities and duties when assigned
Visit construction sites and fabrication shops as required

Education Experience:
College diploma or equivalent
Minimum 12 years experience preferably in oil and gas, petrochemicals, or mining

At least 1 year of design experience utilizing SmartPlant 3D software is required.
