Structural Engineer III
Primary Job Responsibilities Prospective candidate will perform functions consistent with a lead professional engineer responsible for all aspects of structural design for a variety of project types. Typical responsibilities include preparation of specifications, calculations, supervision of design staff and overall drawing production. Additionally, responsibilities often extend to services during construction including supervising shop drawing reviews, answering questions from contractors and structural observations. This position requires the candidate to effectively understand and manage the project scope, project schedule, design budget. Training and Experience Must possess a Bachelor of Science degree with a Masters degree preferred. Candidate must be registered Professional Engineer in at least one state. This position normally requires 7 - 10 years of relevant experience with a record of increasing responsibilities. Another requirement for this position is that the candidate must have technical knowledge of the International Building Code and relevant design standards as well as construction means and methods. May require limited travel within the US or internationally. Other Essential Functions Essential Functions: Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc. Longest distance carried of 50 feet. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same. No foot controls necessary. Must be alert to equipment in the field, there will be occasional travel, will work near construction job site equipment when in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights. No exposure to tobacco smoke. Other Requirements
