We are currently building a team of several Contract Structural Engineers to assist client in West-Akron with a very large Design Project. Engineers will be responsible for structural/mechanical engineering involving all OEM boilers, Boiler piping, structural steel, environmental equipment and components and process piping. These roles are Contracts with no end date. Following is a brief description of these roles? responsibilities and requirements. Structural Engineer MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: +Responsible for structural/mechanical engineering involving all OEM boilers, Boiler piping, structural steel, environmental equipment and components and process piping +Responsible for the design and sizing of components and supports in accordance with customer requirements, applicable codes and internal company standards. Structural Engineer REPRESENTATIVE SKILLS and EXPERIENCE: +A Bachelor?s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering is required +Individual needs to be able to determine loads, including dead, live, seismic, wind, pressure, thermal, static and transient, etc) and load distribution and be able to establish support/anchor locations. +Individual needs to have the ability to perform stress analysis and sizing of structural steel, structural components, boiler and environmental pressure and non-pressure parts in accordance with applicable code(s) and standards. +Individual must have a general working knowledge of structural standards and applicable codes. +Individual should be able to perform pipe stress analysis, identify flexibility requirements and perform support design for both boiler piping and process piping. +Individual should be familiar with stress analysis and component sizing at elevated temperature and should understand thermal expansions. +Individual should be able to perform calculations using computer programs as well as by hand using classical methods. +Individual should understand stress analysis and design in following areas: Thin walled shells, cylindrical vessels tanks, stiffened plates, pressure vessels, piping and structural shapes.
