Structural Engineer
Job Description We are looking for a Structural Engineer for our Building Engineering Business Line. We are seeking individuals who have a strong technical background and also want to have an active role in the strategic expansion of our large project portfolio. Responsibilities will include: Analysis and design of multi-storey buildings to current Australian code loadings Defining load paths of elements within buildings and of overall buildings including stability analysis Element design across a number of traditional structural materials including reinforces and post tensioned concrete, structural steel, masonry and timber as well as alternative materials such as FRP, cold formed section, aluminium, stainless steel Using the full range of structural analysis software on projects such as Strand7, Rapt, Spacegass, ETABS, RAM Concept Communication with clients, architects and other consultants across design projects of all scales. Ability to manage project deliverables and deliver high quality design solutions within demanding project deadlines Selection criteria: Degree qualifications in Structural Engineering, with 5- 10years experience in a similar role within a building structures design team Strong technical structural design and analysis skills in all components of buildings. A wide range of experiences across a number of building typologies A good understanding of construction methods, procedures and the design constraints they present. A keen interest in buildings and architecture and a desire to develop professionally. A desire to think laterally and provide more than the standard solution. It is desirable that you are a Chartered Professional Engineer or have made strong progression towards this status.
