STRUCTURAL ENGINEER Job in Madison, Wisconsin US
Responsible for developing and designing silencers, filters and emission control systems as part of new industrial exhaust and intake systems. Has primary responsibility for analysis and design of large structural steel equipment, including silencers, ducting and platforms. Position involves generation of engineering calculations, drawings and specifications for compliance to customer requirements, applicable codes and company design standards. Requires thorough knowledge of structural design and engineering techniques as well as CAD skills.
· B.S. degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering, Physics, or equivalent degree in a related technical field preferred
· Minimum of three years experience in analyzing and designing structural components for stress, deflection and vibration.
· Minimum of three years experience in the application, function, design, and testing of industrial products.
· Good understanding and knowledge of the physical principles of acoustics, aerodynamics and structural dynamics.
· Knowledge of the application of finite element analysis and computational fluid analysis to develop new products, analysis of system performance, and verification of the structural integrity of products.
· Familiar with International and Uniform Building Codes (IBC and UBC)
· Application experience with RISA structural engineering software is preferred.
· Professional Engineer’s license is considered a plus.
